We’ve finally hit the High Street – Welcome to It Started With a Stitch, the shop!
It Started With a Stitch The Shop is now open. Owning a shop of my own has been a dream for so many years. Years that I’ve spent working in shops for other people. From Currys back in the good old days, to House of Fraser and then Lavitta and Jalouise. Each one has taught me lots, both about retail and about myself.
In true Gemma style, the plan came about practically overnight. I’d had a message to tell me that there was a space that might be worth having a look at in Abbeygate which is top of my dream locations to have a shop. less than 24 hours after viewing it, we’d decided that it was a chance worth taking, even during a global pandemic. We said yes!
I’ve recruited the best selection of makers and indie biz owners that I know and together we’ve filled the space with some amazing products! We’ve got plants, stationery, gifts, bath and body products, vintage and so much more. There’s loads of fantastic pieces in store and we’ve now added some yummy food options too, from local businesses Masala Masters, Button Up Crafts and Blu Gnu Fudge coming soon!
We opened our doors officially on October 31st, the very day that Boris told us that we would have to close from the following Wednesday. We are now getting ready to re-open on Thursday 3rd of December and we cannot wait to see you all back through the door. We’ve had new sellers signing up whilst we’ve been closed which has been so exciting. It also means that if you did get chance to shop with us before we closed, when you come back there’ll be even more to look at!
You can find us on Facebook and Instagram and we’d all love it if you hopped over and joined our exclusive group!
